Coming Soon: Charleston, South Carolina.

Terence and Roma.

My shoot with Terence and Roma required a little bit of improvising after being informed by an employee at an undisclosed location that a permit was required to shoot on their premises.  The lady was as kind as one could be about the situation, and I appreciated that.  We casually strolled across the street and went on about our business.  Terence and Roma were absolutely wonderful about the alternate plans – thank you both for your willingness to work with me.  Congratulations on your engagement!

Andrew and Hayley.

-20 degree weather, frost bitten extremities, and 3 hot chocolates later, Andrew and Hayley’s winter shoot came to an end.  It was so cold outside that we had to stop to warm up 3 times – thanks to Timmy’s!  The lesson we learned that day was to either invest in a Canada Goose Jacket, or just stay home.  Congratulations Andrew and Hayley!  I’ll see you next month on your big day.

Archived: Bobby and Sativa.

Yet another first!  I couldn’t have asked for a better couple for my first engagement shoot.  Would you believe that Sativa flew all the way from the States for this to shoot with me?  Well, you’d be almost right if you said yes.  You see, Sativa lives and Florida, and Bobby lives here in the GTA.  They tell me that they take turns hopping on a plane to see another.  Not only does that equal LOVE, but a lot of airmiles!  Thank you both for making this shoot so fun.  I’ll be seeing you both soon!

Technical Problems.

Hi all.  I’m experiencing a very odd problem with the colors of the pictures that I’m posting.  While photos appear to be fine on my computer, when viewed on other computers, they are…well, awful.  I’ll going to solve this problem before I post any more posts.  My new site is giving me more work than I expected.

Thanks for your patience.

Don.

Archived: Lucas.

My shoot with Lucas, the Brazilian Lady Killer, in June 2010 was my first portrait shoot I shot on my own.  Aside from being questioned by a random security guard on the street, our shoot went rather smoothly.  Thank you Lucas for making my job easy!

Same Same But Different.

Hi everyone!.  Thank you for coming back to my site after a few days of downtime.  At first glance, my site may seem to be very similar if not the same as my old one, but I’ve made quite a few changes.

The most biggest change I made was changing my domain from dkwanphotography.com to donkwanphotography.com.  I did this because, well, it just makes sense.  A lot of people were pronouncing my previous domain like “dk-wan” photography.  I hope that my new domain will help avoid the confusion…although someone already pronounced it “don-k-wan”.

With a new domain comes a new email address.  Please send all emails to info@donkwanphotography.com, or simply use the “Contact” tab and send me a message there.

Aside from the minor changes to the colors and layout of my site, I’ve created two separate sites: my main site for all of my wedding, event, and portraits, and my secondary site for all of my personal photos.  I suppose you can consider my main site as my portfolio, and my personal site to be everything else I decide to take pictures of.  Whether I’ll get any visits to my personal site remains to be seen.  I’m a little concerned that visitors won’t go beyond my main site :(

My plan is to upload some of my photos from my previous posts this week, and start posting new material as soon as everything is up and running again.

Please be patient because as always, there is more to come.

Thank you for visiting and for your continued support.

Don.
